The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began with approval of payroll change notices, which included a request to pay out half the sick leave to the family of paramedic Dan Lindsay, who died recently. Lindsay was just shy of his 20-year mark of service in the County’s Emergency Medical Services Department, which would have qualified him for the sick leave payout upon his departure from employment. Given his loyalty to the County and as a final tribute to him, the Board approved the request. After that, they approved a revision to the recently enacted cell phone policy, to include payment reimbursement in the employees’ first paycheck each month.
Next, the Board approved a pricing proposal request for the law enforcement center project, which included two change orders to accommodate alterations to the plans for smoke evacuation. The first was for VanMaanen in the amount of $7,365.82 for the electrical work, and the second was $152,041 to L.A. Fulton and Sons for the plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning services. Finally, the Board held a public hearing to continue discussion on the five-year road construction program. With no objections from the public, the Supervisors approved the plan as presented.
