The month of March was not kind to trivia events in Perry, as two separate contests had to be postponed to April due to adverse weather. The second of those events is coming up this week, with the next edition of “Trivia with Friends.”

The Friends of the Perry Public Library are hosting the trivia fundraiser, which Library Director Mary Murphy says has had to undergo a slight alteration in theme. “Some of the questions are going to have to be changed, because it was all about ‘March Madness.’ And so we’ll talk about spring, or April things, but we’ll keep some of those ‘March Madness’ (questions) because they were really good questions! So it’s another fundraiser for the Friends, and the Friends do these fundraisers to support our programming. And the big program is Summer Reading, and Summer Reading is just around the corner!”

Trivia with Friends will be held Thursday at La Poste, with registration starting at 6 p.m. and the contest beginning at 6:30. The cost to compete is $10 per person, and teams can be up to eight people. Participants can also purchase “mulligans” for $1 apiece, which can be used for one free answer each round. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Chris Cohea will be serving as emcee for the event. For more information or to pre-register, stop in or call the Perry Library at 515-465-3569.
