The Panorama track and field teams will both be in action again today competing at Earlham. The girls are coming off team wins in both of last week’s meets. Boys Coach Mike Kauzlarich says there’s going to be strong competition for his squad.

“It’s a tough one right off the get go,” Kauzlarich said. “Earlham has some really good distance guys. Madrid’s there, Van Meter’s there, so it’s a big meet and I think there’s about ten boys teams. It’s going to be a challenging meet, but I kind of like that because I think the more teams are there it gives us a better opportunity because I think we do have those elite guys. We just might not have as many as some other teams.”

Kauzlarich thinks both Spencer Hunt and Gracen Welberg have a chance to win multiple events today.

“Spencer will have a chance to win the 100, 200 and 400,” Kauzlarich said. “Gracen’s going to have a chance to compete in the high jump and probably win it. Then with Luke South and Gracen in the 400 hurdles and the high [hurdles] we have another good chance and we’ve been running those really well.

After Tuesday’s meet both the girls and boys will compete again Thursday in different locations.
