Over the weekend, on Friday and Saturday, the ADM Boys’ Soccer team and Head Coach, Bill Shields, hosted a slew of teams in Adel for a weekend tournament.
Each team at the tournament played three games, one on Friday, and two Saturday morning.
The Tigers opened their season early last week with a road game in Carroll, defeating the Carroll Tigers in a 10-0 shutout victory.
ADM continued their winning ways on Friday night, as the Tigers played the late 8:00 game in their home tournament against Glenwood, as ADM took a 2-0 victory in that game.
The Tigers followed up their Friday night win, with another strong performance Saturday morning, as they defeated Harlan High School, in a nip and tuck game, by the score of 2-1. ADM started out the season 3-0 in Boys’ Soccer, but that’s where the perfect season ended for the Tigers.
ADM suffered it’s first blemish on the season record with a 4-3 home defeat to the Scarlets of Des Moines East High. Des Moines East was one of three teams to down the Tigers last season, as the Scarlets picked up the “W” against Shields’ team last season by a 1-0 score.
The Tigers will travel to rival, Dallas Center-Grimes on Thursday for their next game.
