Thursday night was the first dual for the ADM Girls’ Golf team for the season. The Tigers bring a young, but ambitious team to the course this year for first year, Head Coach, Dana Brown.

Brown is ADM Alum, herself, and excited for her opportunity to lead this young team and beyond, for years to come. This year’s ADM Girls’ Golf squad has 10 girls on the roster, which is double the amount that last year’s team saw in participation.

On Thursday, ADM had a home dual with Gilbert, at River Valley Golf Course in Adel. ADM shot a team round score of 244, which is a solid start for such a young team, considering 4 of the 6 girls on Thursday’s Varsity card had never played in a high school golf meet before. ADM did fall victime to Gilbert’s team score of 189, but that doesn’t tell the whole story.

Gilbert Junior, Britta Snyder shot a 2 under par, 34 total for 9 holes of play. Snyder, as a Junior, has already verbally committed to play Women’s Golf for Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Brown and her ADM Girls’ Golf team will be back on the course tonight, at Lakeview Country Club in Winterset teeing off at 4pm, in a triangular with Winterset and Carlisle.
