grant-writing-101

The Perry Chamber of Commerce and Dallas County ISU Extension and Outreach are partnering for a special class this week on how to apply for grants.

Grant Writing 101 will be held Wednesday from 9 a.m. – noon in the upstairs conference room at the Towncraft Building. Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti believes it will be a worthwhile class for anyone wanting to learn more about how to properly apply for funding. “So we have an ISU professor coming to share some tips and tricks for finding grants, and applying for grants, and things to know. So it’ll be a hands-on workshop for anyone that’s interested in applying for a local grant, a statewide grant, that just wants more information, or some feedback on something that they’re working on.”

Pasutti adds, the timing of the workshop is by design, as it aligns with the upcoming deadline for grant proposals from the Perry Hotel/Motel Tax Fund, which is April 17th. Grant Writing 101 is free to attend for Chamber members, and it is $10 for non-members. Pre-registration is requested, and can be done by reaching out to the Chamber office at 515-465-4601. Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop, iPad or other tablet device to use during the class.
