Despite wet and cold conditions, both Greene County varsity golf teams were in action Thursday. The girls played at Perry and the boys were home at the Jefferson Community Golf Course.
Des Moines Christian won the girls’ action with 250 strokes to 257 for the Rams. Perry did not have enough golfers for a team score. Medalist was CeCe Sturdivant of DMC at 45 and Greene County junior Ellie Madson was runner-up at 48. Other scores for the Rams were 62 by Mariah Block, 72 for Faith Hankel, and 75 by Autumn Villebro.
DMC won the boys’ triangular with 162 strokes. All four of their golfers shot 40 or 41 for the nine holes. The Rams had 210 and Perry was at 274. Jadon Block led Greene County with 47, followed by 53 from Cody Gilbertson, and 55 for both Jacob Rohner and Caden Telleen.
