Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center and Panorama high school students performed at the state class 2A solo and ensemble contest at ACGC High School in Guthrie Center Saturday.

For the ACGC Band Department, Malena Rumelhart and Sydney Noland received division “I” ratings and a perfect ballot for a xylophone solo and trumpet solo, respectively. The percussion and woodwind choirs also received division “I” scores, as did several other students. For the vocal department, the chamber and women’s choirs received division “I” scores, as well as a women’s trio of Rumelhart, Klare Sheley, and Audrey Stowe. Rumelhart, Peyton Emgarten, and Tommy Bates also earned division “I” scores for their vocal solos.

For the Panorama Band Department, Ruby Hummel received a division “I” rating and was declared Best of Center. She will perform at Iowa State University with other Best of Center performers. For the vocal department, Josie Arganbright and Taylor Raibikis received division I ratings for their vocal solos.

Des Moines Christian, Woodward-Granger, Mount Ayr, Nodaway Valley, Madrid, and Van Meter also participated in the contest.
