Friday afternoon’s weather brought rain to the area, which cancelled the last scheduled meet for the ADM Boys’ Track and Field team. Friday night, the ADM Boys’ were scheduled to compete in an Invitational at Van Meter.

Thursday evening’s weather wasn’t much better; minus the rain. The cool temperatures, overcast skies, and breezy winds kept the conditions less than desirable for athlete and spectator alike.

Fortunately, today’s elements exceed what we saw last time both the Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams of ADM competed.
Tonight is a big night for ADM Track and Field as the Tigers play host for the Hugh Norman Relays in Adel.

Last Tuesday, both the Boys’ and Girls’ team ran at Earlham, and both teams put on impressive performances for the energetic crowd.

The Boys’ team has seen a strong start to the season from Tiger standouts, Lucas Heitz, Nate Mueller, and Colton Pirtle. The Girls’ leaders have been Hannah Welch, and Freshman, Olivia Tollari has competed a high level in the distance events.

The ADM Boys’ will face teams from Carlisle, Clarke, DCG, Nevada, Norwalk, Van Meter, and Winterset. The Lady Tigers will see opponents from the same schools as the Boys’, plus Bondurant-Farrar.

The first events will start this afternoon at 4:30 from ADM High School in Adel.
