Junior Ellie Madson shot 44 Monday at The Hill in Greene County’s first high school girls’ golf match of the season. The Rams fell to Carroll High 211-261, but Madson earned Medalist honors. Coach Shawn Zanders said he saw a lot of nerves from some of the girls and for some it was their first competitive round of golf. “Congratulations to Ellie Madson for her terrific play, earning medalis honors!” Mariah Block also had a good start and a solid score of 54. Serenity Owens and Trista Gierstorf were not able to play tonight.”

The other scores counting in the team total were 74 by Autumn Villebro and 89 by Alexis Miller. Carroll’s Mallory Schultes shot 48 and was runner-up medalist.

The Rams are scheduled to host Gilbert today at 4 p.m. at The Hill west of Grand Junction.
