The Panorama boys soccer team got the season off to a good start Thursday, defeating Tri-Center 4-1.

David Mendez and Mitchell Dickson provided the goals for Panorama.

It’s a welcome scoring burst for the Panthers, who found the back of the net just nine times last season on their way to a 2-8 record. The win avenges a 4-0 loss to Tri-Center in the team’s inaugural game in 2018.

It’s the first of five straight home games for Panorama as they look to get off to a good start with a number of new players in the lineup, including several from AC/GC as part of a soccer-only co-op.

They’ll be in action again Monday when both the boys and girls host Des Moines Hoover. That will be the season opener for the Panorama girls.
