The City of Perry has once again instituted the decoration rules for Violet Hill Cemetery.
As of Monday, April 1st, all decorations at the cemetery must be contained in vases, placed on headstones, or suspended on an ornamental lawn hook. Any loose flowers or decorations currently in the graveyard must be removed prior to Monday. The exceptions to the rule include Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day. For Memorial Day, decorations will be allowed anywhere around a grave between 10 days before and seven days after the holiday. For Mother’s and Father’s days, the rules are suspended for five days before and after the holidays. The decoration restriction will remain in place until November 15th.
Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact Violet Hill Cemetery directly at 515-465-2755, or Perry City Hall at 515-465-2481.
