The ACGC track and field teams were in action Thursday night at the annual Davis Relays in Perry. Both squads collected several medals and top-3 team finishes.

The varsity boys team finished in 2nd place with 118 points. It was a night for the upperclassmen as seniors Dylan Soper (100m), Clay Billheimer (1600m), and Noah Nelsen (3200m) each took home 1st place varsity finishes. Junior Quynton Younker also won the shot put with a school record throw of 44 feet, ten inches. As for the relays, the boys took the gold in the 4×200 and distance medley.

Other medalists on the boys side included: Nelsen (2nd-800m), sprint medley relay (2nd), freshman Charlie Crawford (3rd-long jump), 4×100 relay (3rd), 4×400 relay (3rd), shuttle hurdle relay (3rd). Junior Sam Madsen was an inch out of a medal in the shot put, finishing in 4th.

The varsity girls team finished in 3rd with 88 points. Senior Madison McDermott collected another gold in the shot put while junior Kate Crawford grabbed top finishes in the 800m and 1500m. The 4×800 meter relay, also anchored by Crawford, took home 1st place honors. Other medalists for the girls included: sophomore Rylee Sloss (3rd-3000), sophomore Audrey Stowe (3rd-400m hurdles), sophomore Mady Kelsey (3rd-shot put), and the sprint medley relay team (3rd).

Des Moines Christian and Panorama took home the boys and girls titles with 153 and 190 points respectively. Both squads will continue their season in Panora on Tuesday. A full list of results can be found below.
