The ACGC boys track and field team opened up their outdoor campaign on Tuesday in Audubon. Despite being without the seniors at the meet, the Chargers finished with several top-ten placements.
There were no top-three finishes, but sophomore Clayton Wardyn finished in 4th in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, six inches. That mark is just half a foot lower than the high mark all of last season set by Clayton’s older brother, Caden. The other top five finish went to the 4×200 meter relay team in 5th with a time of 1:41.57. The sprint medley and 4×800 meter teams both finished in 6th.
Other top ten finishes included: junior Quynton Younker (7th-shot put, 10th-discus), junior Bryce Littler (7th-discus), junior Sam Madsen (8th-shot put), junior Austin Wierick (T-8th 100m), freshman Charlie Crawford (7th-long jump), the 4×100 meter relay (7th) and the 4×400 meter relay (8th).
