The first official action of the season for the West Central Valley Boys’ and Girls’ Track team gets underway today, as the Wildcats will join a slew of other area schools in Earlham for the Early Bird Invitational.

For the Boys’, they’ll see competitors from Earlham, Ankeny Christian Academy, Grand View Christian, Iowa Christian Academy, Saydel Community Schools, Treynor, and Van Meter.

On the Girls’ side, West Central Valley will face host school Earlham, along with Adel DeSoto Minburn, Ankeny Christian Academy, Des Moines East, Grand View Christian, Iowa Christian Academy, Madrid, Southeast Warren, and Van Meter.

In last week’s PM Sports Page Show, Boys’ Coach, Eric Addy mentioned that he’s very excited with his team’s depth in the middle distance events, and believes that his 4×400 meter relay team stands a good chance to make a return trip to state with three of four pieces returning to this year’s WCV Boys’ Track team.
