Linduska Field in Jefferson is the site of the Greene County Early Bird Track & Field Coed Meet. Starting time is 4:30 p.m. It’s the first outdoor meet of the season for the Rams and most of the other teams in the field. The meet was originally scheduled for Monday, but today’s weather forecast is for warmer temperatures, so school officials backed it up 24 hours.

Other girls and boys teams scheduled to take part include Ogden, Gilbert, Manson-Northwest Webster, Southeast Valley (Gowrie), North Polk (Alleman), and South Hamilton (Jewell). The ACGC girls and Ft. Dodge St. Edmond boys are also scheduled to be in the field.

Derek Merk is the Greene County girls’ coach and Chad Morton is the boys’ head coach. Both have seen their teams perform multiple times indoors, but are looking forward to the first outdoor meet. There is no team scoring at today’s meet, but it does serve as a qualifier for next month’s Drake Relays in Des Moines.
