The Churdan Public Library is the recipient of another area grant for a continuing project.

Greene County farmer Mike Minnihan recently directed a $2,500 grant to the library through America’s Farmers Grow Communities, by the Monsanto Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer. Library Director Shari Minnihan says the funds will be used to enhance their makerspace programming and upgrade their technology area.

America’s Farmers Grow Communities partners with farmers to support nonprofit organizations in rural communities. Farmers get the opportunity to direct $2,500 donations to a nonprofit of their choice. In its ten years, the program has given more than $33 million to over 8,000 nonprofits nationally.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the library has received this grant.
