The rescheduled Greene County Chamber and Tourism Annual Meeting was held Friday night at the Jefferson Elks Lodge.
The evening had lots of highlights including the announcement of the 2018 Above and Beyond the Call (ABC) Award winner, which was Chris and Tracy Deal. Another highlight was recognizing several Chamber member milestones. Those included: Peoples Bank in Scranton, Moo Meat and Uptown Cafe for ten years; and the founding members of over 75 years, which were the Bee and Herald and Home State Bank since 1936, and Slininger Funeral Home and Wells Fargo Bank since 1937.
The 2019 Board President Lisa Kuhl introduced the new board members as well as the other new officers. The other officers are: Vice-President Ian Wilkinson, Treasurer Pete Russell and Past-President Mike Holden. Kuhl talked about her vision of where she wants to take the Chamber this year.
“I’d like to see the Chamber go in the direction of focusing more on our members and bringing events to the community that’s going to help them. One of the things that I’m looking at is trying to set up a class to help with sales and marketing, and to help with their employees. So I would like to see us get back in touch with our members and get out there and work with them.”
Kuhl also presented the four Chamber-related committees and the respective chairs, including: Promotions with Chair Rosie Tucker, Tourism with Chair Mike Holden, Events with Chair Pete Russell and Membership with Chair Jill Morton.
