Construction is about to begin on the parking lot of the Dallas County Auditor’s Office in Adel, which will affect how people enter the facility.

The work is expected to begin April 1st and is estimated to be completed by mid-June. During that time, the main public entrance into the building will be closed. Anyone needing to access the Auditor’s Office will need to use the south entrance. Patrons are asked to utilize street parking along Court and 10th streets, and then use the sidewalk along the 910 Court Street building to enter the Auditor’s Office through the alley.

Dallas County Auditor Julia Helm apologizes in advance for any inconvenience to the public. She adds, the timing of the construction was by design, as this is typically the Office’s slow time of the year. The only election on the radar that could be held during construction is the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District’s proposed bond referendum on a new elementary school. However, Helm doesn’t believe construction should create too many issues for voters in that election.

Anyone with questions is encouraged to reach out to the Auditor’s Office at 515-993-6914.
