An Ankeny woman is deceased after a single vehicle wreck occurred Friday night in Dallas County.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 40-year-old Melissa Jean Sears was driving a Jeep Liberty northbound on Ute Avenue near 340th Trail south of Waukee at about 11:26 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve and hit a sign and a tree. Sears was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office and Waukee Police Department assisted at the scene.
