Greene County Community Foundation

The Greene County Community Foundation is hosting their annual award ceremony next week.

It will be at the Presbyterian Church in Jefferson at 7pm on Monday, March 25th. This year, they will give away $150,000 to 23 grant projects. All grant applications were for $35,000 or less. The funding for the Greene County Community Foundation comes from the non-profit gaming license holder of Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson, Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation.

The Community Foundation also receives funds from a drive they hold in the fall that goes toward their permanent endowment, of which they can distribute additional grants from a percentage of the endowment. However, a larger part is set aside to ensure the Community Foundation’s future viability.

Monday’s ceremony is free and open to the public.
