Nominations are now open for the 2019 Wall of Witnesses honoree through the Perry Historic Preservation Commission and Hometown Heritage.

The public is encouraged to submit the names of any current or former Perry residents who have had a positive impact on the community over the years. There are currently 24 individuals included in the Wall of Witnesses, each with a ceramic relief in their likeness placed on the western wall of Soumas Court in downtown Perry. Last year’s honoree was Dallas “Pete” VanKirk, and Jim Walstrom was inducted the year before. Nominees for the wall can be living or deceased.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the Perry Chamber of Commerce office at the Towncraft Building, the Carnegie Library Museum, the McCreary Community Building, and Perry City Hall. Anyone who has previously been nominated but not selected is still eligible for the Wall of Witnesses. The deadline to submit a nomination is May 8th. For more information, contact Perry Hometown Heritage at 515-465-7713 or the Carnegie Museum at 515-465-4721.
