The Perry Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office are each looking to fill a dispatch position, and anyone interested is encouraged to apply.
The Perry job is a full-time 911 dispatcher and jailer position that involves answering emergency calls and communicating with the appropriate responding agencies. There are also an assortment of clerical responsibilities and other duties required. Candidates must be at least 18-years-old, pass a background check, and meet all state requirements for employment. The Department also asks that applicants have strong multi-tasking abilities and be able to type 45 words per minute. Applications can be picked up at the Police Department or online at PerryIA.org. The due date to submit resumes is March 29th by 4 p.m.
The Sheriff’s Office position has similar job requirements, though the majority of their time is spent fielding emergency calls. There are also an assortment of licenses and certifications the applicant must fulfill after being hired. The County is also hiring a full-time correctional officer to work at the jail.
