Spring Break for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District has begun, and the Adel Public Library has an assortment of activities for kids during their week off.
The entire week, the library is hosting a “Wee Build Challenge,” where kids are invited to build and name any LEGO creations to be displayed in the children’s area. The “Master Builders” will also receive a treat for their efforts. On Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., children are invited to a special event featuring illustrator and author Tim Read, who travels around the Midwest to talk about the power of creativity and imagination. The program will include a humorous live cartoon illustration and improvised story with audience participation.
People of all ages are then welcome to join “Wee Watch,” featuring the film “Ralph Breaks the Internet” on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., and “Spiderman: Into the Spider-verse” at 2 p.m. on Thursday. Also on Wednesday, tweens and teens are invited to make slime at the library at 2 p.m. Each of the spring break programs are free to attend, and no registration is required. For more information on these and other upcoming programs, stop into the Adel Library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
