The Panorama School Board met in regular session Monday.

The meeting began with a work session to discuss the fiscal year 2020 certified budget and a public hearing for the 2019-2020 school calendar. Superintendent Shawn Holloway comments on next year’s proposed tax rate, “Last year our overall school tax rate was 13.58, this year we’re planning on it being 13.4. So a decrease in the tax rate which obviously taxpayers like but also a fairly stable rate. So I think overall there’s not a lot of change there, we kept everything as consistent as we could in terms of the way we broke that down between surtax and some of those things.”

The Board set April 8th at 6 p.m. for the public hearing for the budget. The Board also approved next year’s school calendar, as well as this year’s makeup days and adjustment to the end of year calendar. The remaining scheduled early-outs for professional development will now be full days of instruction, and school will also be in session Monday, April 22nd. The last day of school now will be May 31st, and the last contract day for non-certified staff is June 4th, and June 5th for certified staff.
