This week high school golf programs from around the state began official practices for the upcoming season. The West Central Valley boys golf team is expected to return the majority of their team from 2018, with just one senior lost to graduation.

Sophomore Grant Caltrider is expected to follow in brother Garret’s footsteps this season for the Wildcats. Grant was right behind Garret in terms of team statistics in both low nine hole score and nine hole average. Grant averaged 43.56 strokes per nine holes in 2018 for the Wildcats. A trio of seniors are expected to back up the young Caltrider, as Cole Arnburg Devan Jones, and Tony Jones look to return for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats open competition with a West Central Activities Conference triangular against Des Moines Christian and Pleasantville at Jester Park Golf Course on Monday, April 1st.
