Emergency crews responded to a wreck Wednesday afternoon in Minburn, which involved at least one vehicle partially submerged in water and sent at least one person to the hospital.

At around 3:45 p.m., the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wreck on 2nd Street in Minburn, just east of Highway 169. Emergency crews rescued at least one person from a submerged vehicle, and that individual was reportedly transported to the hospital by Dallas County Emergency Medical Services with possible hypothermia. No details are available at this time, but Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.

The Sheriff’s Office warns motorists that the combination of extended periods of rain today and all the recent snow and ice has created multiple cases of water on roadways. That includes in Perry and Adel, though road crews are working to resolve the issue of flooded streets. The Sheriff’s Office remind people to never attempt to drive through a water-covered roadway, and instead you should “turn around, don’t drown.”
