Greene County senior Trey Hinote was named to the Class 2A boys’ basketball All-State third team by the Iowa Print Sportswriters Association. He’s a school record holder, a repeat first team all-conference selection in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, a member of the 2A Substate 6 team, and now an All-State selection. Hinote averaged 21.7 points per game as a senior for the 7-16 Rams. He scored 1,315 points in his varsity career.
The HOIAC had four All-State players among the 24 selected in 2A. Conner Hill of South Hamilton (Jewell) was on the first team. Andrew Van Ryswyk of PCM (Monroe) was a second team selection, and South Hamilton’s Logan Peters joined Hinote on the third team. Also, Ogden Ben Heeren was a first teamer and South Central Calhoun’s Zane Neubaum was on the third team.
