The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.
The meeting began early, with a special session of the Dallas County Assessor Conference Board at 8 a.m. The purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing regarding the Assessor’s fiscal year 2020 budget. In addition to approving the budget, the Conference Board also approved two appointments to the Examining Board, though there’s still an open spot that the Supervisors may fill soon.
The regular meeting began at 9 a.m., with approval of payroll change notices. Among them was the hiring of the new Dallas County Human Resources Director, Beth Deardorff, who will officially start on April 1st. Next, the Board approved a change order of $4,836.39 to All Makes for the furnishings aspect of the courthouse renovation project. They then tabled a decision regarding the Treasurer’s Office request to purchase the Q-Matic system for their new Motor Vehicle Department offices at the courthouse.
The Supervisors then set March 26th at 9:30 a.m. as the time and date for a public hearing regarding an overhang easement along the Raccoon River Valley Trail for MidAmerican Energy. The meeting concluded with the appointment of six individuals to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Four of the appointees were previously on the Commission, with the other two being new to it. There is still one vacancy that the Supervisors may fill in the near future.
