A Monday afternoon crash in Carroll County sent two Jefferson residents to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the incident happened at 3:15pm at the intersection of Highway 30 and Sycamore Avenue in Carroll. Fifty-three-year-old Paul Daniel of Glidden was eastbound on the highway. He had stopped his 2014 Mack truck and was waiting to make a left turn onto Sycamore Avenue when he was rear-ended by a 2015 Cadillac SRX driven by 95-year-old Francis Hanen Jr., of Jefferson. The Cadillac became wedged under the trailer of the truck. Hanen and his passenger were taken to a hospital in Carroll with minor injuries, Daniel was uninjured.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s office, and Glidden and Carroll Emergency Medical Services assisted at the scene. The investigation is ongoing by the Iowa State Patrol. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
