The window to apply for a scholarship from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Benevolent organization is now open, and students interested in public safety as a career are encouraged to apply.
There are two $500 scholarships available to any high school senior living in Dallas County and attending any of the County’s schools. There are several other prerequisites for applying, with the chief requirement being a planned field of study in law enforcement, criminal justice, fire sciences, or paramedic/emergency medical technician education. Applicants must also be enrolling as a full-time student for the coming school year, and the institution must be in Iowa. The deadline to apply is April 15th, and the winners will be announced at their respective school’s awards day.
