The Adel-Desoto-Minburn track and field teams will be sending a select number to participate in the Wartburg Invitational at Wartburg College in Waverly today.

This is the second meet of the young season for the Tigers. Several athletes got some early success in the annual Dickinson Relays earlier this month at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. Freshman Olivia Tollari highlighted the girls team performances, reaching the top 25 in the 400 meter dash with a 25th place finish. Eight other Tiger entries placed in the top 50 in Cedar Falls.

On the boys side, sophomore Nate Mueller had the highest placement for the Tigers, finishing in 5th place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:40.49. He also finished 11th in the 3200 and is expected to be among the ADM entries today. Also expected to be among ADM’s entries is senior Lucas Heitz. Heitz reached the top ten in the 60 meter hurdles at UNI, crossing the line in the finals in 10th with a time of 8.67.

The meet is a condensed one, starting at about 2:30pm and wrapping up before 10pm tonight. It will feature teams from across the state and all four classes.
