Earlier this week, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn track and field teams made the trek to the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls to open the 2019 season.
All three relay teams for the ADM girls placed in the top 15 with the 4×400 finishing in the top ten. The 4×400 team finished in 7th out of 50 teams to leave the blocks with a time of 4:20.58. The 4×200 and 4×800 meter teams each placed 15th with times of 1:54.54 and 10:34.22 respectively.
On the individual side, freshman Olivia Tollari reached the top 25 with a 25th place finish in the 400 meter dash. Tollari crossed the line with a time of 1:04.75. Freshman Anna Friesth turned in the fastest time for ADM in the 200 meter dash, completing the race in 29 seconds flat and coming in 40th place. Other top 50 finishes include: junior Josi Lonneman (32nd-60 meter dash, 43rd-long jump), seniors Anna Kenny and Abigail Calligan (36th and 48th-60 meter hurdles), freshman Busta Brynn (50th-800 meter run), sophomore Hannah Welch (40th-1500 meter run), and sophomore Zoe Marckmann (30th-3000 meter run).
