A junior guard on this year’s Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers varsity girls basketball team received another award from the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association this week. The IBCA released their 2018-19 All-Region basketball teams on Monday, and Abbie Hlas represents ADM on the Class 4A Region 8 squad. Hlas, a unanimous first-team All-Raccoon River Conference selection, led the Tigers with 351 points, 71 assists, and 71 steals in 24 games played. She scored 50 total points during ADM’s postseason run, including a game-high 26 points against the Carlisle Wildcats in the Tigers’ playoff opener. Hlas’ efforts helped ADM to their best record in recent memory, winning 15 of their 24 games played this winter.
