The varsity boys basketball season has come and gone at Panorama Community Schools with two players expected to graduate from the program this May. Seniors Gracen Welburg and Trey Cobb each played a role in Panorama’s seven-win improvement this winter. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with Panorama first-year head coach Nick Peasley about the impact these two had on the program on Monday’s Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page. “We (had) two great seniors for the underclassmen to look up to from the standpoint of saying ‘ok, this is about the team,'” Peasley said, “Gracen (Welburg) and Trey (Cobb), they’re going to be missed. Gracen for his scoring and rebounding. He even became a pretty good defender towards the end of the year, and Trey definitely for his leadership with his competitive nature.”
Welburg led Panorama with 329 points and 165 rebounds. Cobb finished with the third most rebounds this season, securing 55 possession for Panorama. The two helped the Panther boys basketball team to a 13-11 overall record, Panorama’s first winning season since the 2015-16 campaign.
