Wednesday, February 27th

3:22am: An officer checked on an Alarm Activation at 115 West State Street. All was found to be secure at the bank.

10:49am: Erica Teed reported two stray dogs in the 1000 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The officer returned the animals to the owner’s residence. Mark Rasmussen was issued a citation for, “Animal at Large.”

1:08pm: A Traffic Stop was performed at south Walnut and Madison Streets. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Greg William Hackler, 28 of Jefferson for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated.”

3:23pm: John Johnson requested a Welfare Check of a female at 500 East Clark Street. The officer spoke to the female and found no issues occurring at the residence.

5:05pm: Brett Cranston reported possible Criminal Mischief to his truck while parked in the 100 Block of North Chestnut Street. The rear window was broken out. The officer is investigating.

5:43pm: Tony Ratliff spoke with an officer about his child being bullied at school. The officer advised Ratliff to work with the school in the matter.

10:59pm: Susan Forkner requested a Welfare Check on a juvenile at 300 East State. The officer spoke to the child, who was fine.

Thursday, February 28th

6:58am: Kyle DeMoss reported a Careless Driver on 235th Street, heading west into Jefferson. The officer performed a Traffic Stop with the vehicle in the 200 Block of West Lincoln Way Street and spoke to the driver about the complaint.

1:14pm: The Greene County High School requested an officer at 101 Ram Drive after finding possible narcotics on a male juvenile. The substance tested positive for marijuana with a NICS Test Kit. The officer is investigating and future charges are expected for the 15-year-old male.

1:15pm: An officer began a Sexual Assault Investigation after a report from a Perry Officer. The reported event occurred in Jefferson against a 15-year-old female within the last two years.

2:02pm: A caller advised of a semi at 106 West Washington Street, which had a large pile of snow on top of the trailer. The caller was concerned the snow would blow off on the road and cause an accident. The officer located the driver and spoke to him about removing the hazard from his trailer.

3:05pm: A Traffic Stop at State and Locust Streets resulted in Michael Wright of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Wear Safety Belts.”

4:36pm: An officer assisted a motorist who was in the ditch in the 1200 Block of North Mulberry Street.
