While some area track and field teams began their preseason practice period on February 11, Tuesday marked the first day of training for members of the West Central Valley varsity boys squad. Eric Addy is entering his second season leading the Wildcats varsity boys track and field program. He shared with Raccoon Valley Radio the reasons for beginning practice this week. “We had a lot of multisport athletes (still in the winter sports season on the first day of preseason practice),” Addy said, “We (had guys playing) basketball and wrestling so that’s why we got a later start.”
Addy adds his group has about a month of practice time left before they open the season in the Earlham Early Bird Invitational on March 26.
