Weather played yet another role in making Greene County and Paton-Churdan School Districts get creative for the district individual speech competition.
Instead of traveling to Adel-DeSoto-Minburn last Saturday, both school districts hired individuals to judge the students’ performances on Tuesday. This was the same method the two school districts used during part of the large group speech contest season. Greene County Speech Coach Kelley Gray says nine students will advance on to the state contest in 13 entries. As for Paton-Churdan, seven students will compete at state in 12 categories.
The state contest takes place on March 9th at Nevada High School. A full list of the students who qualified for state and what they will be performing can be found below.
