The softball career of Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers senior Emily Hatchitt will continue in college next year. Last Friday, Hatchitt put pen to paper, signing a letter of intent with the Iowa Western Community College Reivers Women’s Softball program. Hatchitt was known primarily for her defense during last summer’s run to the Class 4A State Championship game. She posted a .962 fielding percentage as the Tigers’ starting right fielder, making 25 putouts in 26 chances. Hatchitt came to the plate four times last summer, reaching base once via being hit by a pitch. The 2018 ADM Softball team finished with a 35-8 overall record and will be under the direction of first-year head coach Jodi Doty this summer. Iowa Western Community College is based in Council Bluffs. The Reiver’s Women’s Softball team posts a 1-5 record this season and resumes their season Sunday in Overland Park, Kansas against Johnson County Community College.
