The Perry wrestling team is coming off another solid showing at the state tournament after getting one on the podium and another to earn a consolation victory.  Head Coach Mark Weber is hoping that a new group of leaders will emerge as a result.  Perry turned in their best wrestling of the season toward the end of the year with solid showings at both sectional and district competition.  Perry will have two returning state qualifiers as well with Cole Nelson and Jacob Nelson.

“Yeah, I really think our entire team started to figure things out late in the season, especially during the post-season,” said Weber.  “I think they saw what happens when you wrestle hard for six minutes and more importantly, wrestle like you expect to win.  A number of our kids picked up nice wins in sectionals which should give them some confidence to work hard during the offseason.”
