Don’t forget, the first meeting of 2019 for the 100+ People for Perry is Monday night.
The organization is always looking for new members, and anyone interested is invited to come to the Cellar at La Poste at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will start with a social time, followed by the selection of three random projects to be presented by members for consideration. The group will then vote on which project to support, and each member will donate $100 to the one chosen. Organizers remind members to bring any project suggestions they may have so there are plenty to choose from.
The goal of 100+ People for Perry is to invest in the City’s future and enhance the quality of life for residents. The organization makes four large donations a year, each of which will fund the project of a nonprofit group that operates in the Perry community. To date, they have pledged $80,600 to 12 different projects, including last year’s donations to the Perry Alano Club, the Nudgers Group, Art on the Prairie, and the Perry Police Association. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to reach out to organizers Mark Powell at 515-465-4641 or mpowel@fdplawfirm.com, Tom Lipovac at Tom.Lipovac@perry.k12.ia.us, or Linda Kaufman at kaufmanlinda1948@gmail.com. Any members that can’t attend Monday’s meeting can drop off their check at the Finneseth, Dalen, and Powell Law Firm.
