Friday, February 22nd
9:25am: An officer investigated a Two vehicle Property Damage Accident in the 600 Block of West Washington Street. A 1995 Dodge Ram, owned by Matthew Roberts of Jefferson, was legally parked in the 600 Block of West Washington Street. A 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, owned and operated by Eric Grevson of Jefferson, Turned east off of North Walnut Street, onto West Washington Street. Grevson struck the Roberts vehicle during the turn. The Roberts vehicle suffered a reported $1000.00 in damages to the front end. The Grevson vehicle had a reported $1000.00 to the driver’s side corner. Grevson was cited by the officer for, “Driving While Suspended, Fail to Provide Proof of Financial Liability – Accident, and Fail to Maintain Control.”
11:20am: A caller advised of a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading west towards Jefferson. The vehicle was not located.
1:02pm: A business owner advised officers that the White Oak Station, located at 303 North Elm Street, was selling pop without the “Iowa 5 Cent Refund” labels affixed to them. The officer verified this at the business and advised them to stop selling any bottles without the refund on them. The station was still charging the “5 Cent Refund” as they sold the products. The local manager advised the product is being shipped from the Texas area by White Oak Cooperate. The product has been removed from sales.
2:22pm: Amelia Kennedy advised her juvenile son had left her residence after an argument. She believed he was walking to his grandparent’s residence in the 800 Block of West Lincoln Way Street. The child was returned to his Guardians.
4:12pm: A subject dropped off a stray dog he located in Jefferson. The officer placed the animal in the Animal Holding Facility.
5:13pm: Jo Wilson advised her small dog had gotten out at 602 West State Street. She advised her son was out looking for the animal.
6:44pm: Lorrie Lawrence reported an accident at Harrison and Locust Streets. A 2002 GMC Envoy, owned by Danielle Ross and operated by Trevor Ross of Jefferson was northbound on South Locust Street. At the intersection of Locust and Harrison Streets, Ross struck an eastbound vehicle travelling east on Harrison Street. The 2012 Chrysler 200 was owned by Theresa Lawson and operated by Joshua Lawson of Jefferson. The Ross vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in damages, while the Lawson vehicle suffers a reported $2000.00 in damages. Lawson was cited for, “Fail to Yield to the Right.”
7:23pm: Officers assisted the Jefferson Fire Department with smoke in the residence at 204 East Clark Street. They determined bread in a toaster was the cause of the smoke. No damage was reported.
Saturday, February 23rd
1241am: An officer assisted a stuck motorist in the 1000 Block of Westwood Drive.
1:29am: Officers were requested by parents at 507 Hillcrest Place. They believed their juvenile son was under the influence of marijuana. The officer’s investigation led to Ethan Long 16 of Jefferson, being cited for, “Minor Using Tobacco/Vape Products.” The officer also learned of two local students who provided the vaping products to the minor. Future charges against them are pending the close of the investigation. No narcotics were located.
1:32am: An officer assisted a stuck motorist in the 1000 Block of West Lincoln Way Street.
10:17am: Tyler Smits reported a subject parked outside his residence at 304 West Reed Street, who was refusing to leave the area. The subject left on his own before the officer’s arrival.
12:19pm: Howard Gustin reported hearing noises in his attic at 305 South Grimmell Road overnight. The officer checked the attic and found nothing had been disturbed and nothing was out of the ordinary.
4:55pm: An officer removed a bat form the residence at 703 South Vine Street.
8:35pm: Jason Sheldahl requested officers at 501 ½ East Lincoln Way Street for a Domestic Situation. Offices arrived and learned of a Verbal Argument between Sheldahl and his girlfriend. The officers assisted in mediating the couple to a solution to the issue.
9:07pm: Officers checked on an Alarm Activation at 1800 Doreen Wilbur Drive. All was fine at the business.
9:21pm: An investigation began into a couple going to several local businesses and making purchases with possible Fraudulent Cards. Future report as investigation continues.
9:56pm: Allison Lenning requested officers to check the Casino for her father. He had gone in the ditch and had been dropped off at the casino. He was not answering his cell phone. The officers did not locate him at the Casino.
10:22pm: Officers assisted a stuck motorist on Gallop Road.
10:56pm: Officers assisted a stuck motorist at State and Chestnut Streets.
Sunday, February 24th
12:38am: Officers assisted a stuck motorist near Cedar and Harrison Streets.
12:49am: An officer checked on an unoccupied vehicle stuck on West Wall Street, by the Secondary Roads Department.
1:43am: The Wild Rose Casino requested officers to give stranded subjects a ride to the Temporary Storm Shelter, located at the Rec Center.
1:48am: Mitchell Thurman reported receiving Prank Phone Calls.
4:01am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 500 Block of North Locust Street.
4:21am: Rachel Plowman advised of a male walking on Grimmell Road. The officer located the male, who refused assistance or a ride.
4:44am: Miranda Morris reported her boyfriend walked away from the Casino after the two had argued. She could not locate him. The officer located the subject at the Super 8 Motel.
5:27am: Rebecca Crawford reported the Theft of a Wallet from 777 Wild Rose Lane. The wallet contained a large quantity of cash and Credit Cards. A suspect has been developed from security video and the investigation is on-going.
6:39am: An officer assisted a stuck motorist on Gallop Road.
8:35am: Officers assisted a stuck motorist at Grimmell and Washington Streets.
9:25am: An officer assisted a stuck motorist on Gallop Road.
9:57am: Officers assisted a female locked out of her residence in the 1300 Block of West Lincoln Way Street.
10:16am: An officer checked 245th Street, west of Jefferson for two reported subjects walking towards town. The officer did not locate them.
10:38am: Officers assisted a female, who locked her keys in a running vehicle in the 500 Block of South Cedar Street.
2:15pm: Twyla Lindsey reported a neighbor was depositing snow on her property at 108 Harding Road.
2:31pm: A Traffic Stop at Chestnut and Russell Streets resulted in Birton Davis of Jefferson being cited for, “Fail to Obey Stop Sign.”
4:42pm: Officers assisted EMS with a Medical call in the 300 Block of South Georgia Street.
******** Officers issued (2) Snow Emergency Citations and towed one vehicle from the square during this reporting period.
