The Greene County Conservation Department is offering the free hunter education course this week.
Conservation Director Dan Towers says the three-day class will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 9pm at the Milwaukee Depot. The final day will take place on Saturday from 8am to 3pm at Slinginger Woods. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch for Saturday’s class. The classes are designed to teach participants basic survival and first aid skills, water safety, wildlife identification, and the basics of wildlife management, hunting laws and firearm and/or archery safety. The class is also required before an individual can purchase an Iowa hunting license.
Individuals interested in taking the course must be at least 11-years-old. Registration is done online by clicking the link below. For additional information, call Towers at 386-5674.
