With snowfall coming this weekend, it’s a good time to remind Jefferson residents about the City’s snow ordinance.
The ordinance goes into effect anytime there’s at least one-half-inch of accumulated snowfall. Once the ordinance is in effect, parking is not permitted on any city street, alleyway or city-owned off-street parking until the snow event stops and the snow has been cleared from curb-to-curb. Additionally, parking for the downtown square is not allowed between 2 to 6am when the ordinance is in effect.
The Jefferson Police Department issued nine snow emergency tickets over the last two snow events.
