The Greene County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing this Monday on several budget amendments for the current fiscal year.

The proposed revenues total $1,055,787. Most of the revenue change is from the reimbursement from MidAmerican Energy for road damage that their equipment inflicted on county roads during the wind turbine project and profits from when the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) came through the county.

As for the proposed expenses, those total $880,138. About $312,000 of that came from hiring Lacy Brubaker as the ambulance transitional director, other ambulance-related costs, paying law enforcement academy costs to the City of Jefferson when the Sheriff’s office hired Caleb Jans as a deputy, and other expenses. There was also a $325,000 expense from the Secondary Roads Department.

The public hearing on the budget amendment will take place on Monday, February 25th at 9am at the Supervisors Boardroom of the Greene County Courthouse.
