A reminder: the Iowa High School Speech Association District Individual Contest is being held today at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School.

ADM will be joined at the event by speech teams from 29 other schools, including Perry, Greene County, Paton-Churdan, West Central Valley, and Panorama. The Perry team will be sending 25 students participating in 37 different entries, while ADM has 26 students in 32 entries. The performances begin at 10 a.m. and will run throughout the day at 12 different centers. There is a $3 suggested donation to attend the event, and concessions will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go towards the ADM speech team.

Entries that receive a “I” rating at today’s contest will move onto the state competition, which will be held on Saturday, March 9th at Nevada High School. Listen to Raccoon Valley Radio on Tuesday for results from the district contest, including any Perry and ADM students who advance to state.
