For a second straight season, the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls basketball team can say their season came to an end against one of the eight Class 4A state qualifiers. ADM closed the 2018-19 season in Grinnell on Saturday against Class 3A’s No. 3 squad, 75-58. The Tigers punched their ticket back to the Class 4A State Tournament on Tuesday night with a 59-40 triumph of Little Hawkeye Conference foe Pella, earning the No. 2 seed in the bracket. Only three teams scored more points than ADM did against Grinnell during the season, including Gilbert (won 72-70), Class 3A No.1 North Polk (lost 75-74), and Class 3A No. 3 Center Point-Urbana (lost 61-57). ADM finished their 2017-18 season in Council Bluffs, falling to No. 2 Lewis Central, 57-25. The Titans qualified as the second seed in last year’s Class 4A State tournament field, suffering their only loss of the season in the quarterfinal round against LeMars, 52-43. ADM had the best season in recent memory under first-year head coach Jacob Cleveland, posting a 15-9 overall record, a six-win improvement from last year. The Tigers graduate four players from this years program including Kristen Baier, Emma Jacobsen, Anna Kenny, and Grace McCartney.
