Todd Gordon was named the next Activities Director for the Greene County School District. A Monday morning news release from the district stated Gordon, a 35-year educator, and A.D. for the last 14 years, will begin duties here on July 1. He previously had been at Treynor and Carlisle, and currently is the Athletic Director at Des Moines Roosevelt.

Gordon told Raccoon Valley Radio why Greene County and Jefferson appealed to he and his wife. “One of the things my wife and I have probably missed more than anything is the small town feel, the community feel, that you get in a school like Greene County and a community like Jefferson. That was a big appeal to us. The fact that Jefferson appears and looks to be so aggressive is great with the new tech business coming in, some of the existing businesses, and the casino that continues to bring money into the community and into the school. We loved our time in Des Moines and the Metro Area for the past seven years, but we’re looking forward to getting started in Jefferson on July 1 and being involved in the community.”

He also is the current President of the Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association.
