Don’t forget: a presidential candidate is paying a visit to Perry today, and the public is invited to the free meet and greet hosted by the Perry Area Democrats.

Democratic candidate John Delaney will be at the Perry Perk Coffee Shop today from 4-5:30 p.m. He was the first candidate to declare his intention to run for the Democratic nomination ahead of the 2020 primaries, having done so in 2017 shortly after the inauguration of President Donald Trump. He’s now the first officially declared candidate to visit Dallas County in advance of the next Iowa Caucuses. Delaney was the U.S. Representative from Maryland’s 6th Congressional District up until this year, as he decided to not seek re-election to Congress in order to focus on the Presidential race.
