Kaden Duncan was announced as the new head football coach of the Greene County Rams earlier this month, and Activities Director candidates were interviewed last week. Those are two major positions guiding young people in the Greene County School District.
Going back to the 1950’s, the A.D. has been a football coach all but once in Jefferson, and for nearly all those years, has been the head football coach. That trend has now been broken after former head coach and A.D. Mitch Moore left in December to become head football coach at Des Moines Roosevelt. Superintendent Tim Christensen and Activities Administrative Assistant Misty Bettey have assumed many of the A.D. duties.
The new A.D., who could be named soon, will not be the head football coach, and it’s possible may not coach at all. These are viewed as positive changes by school administration as they look to the future.
Coach Duncan, in addition to heading the football program, will teach middle school Physical Education, and also guide the strength and conditioning program for all students.
